Alexander Murray is an independent bottler founded by Steve Lipp in 2004. The company is named after his great uncle who inspired Steve’e love of Malt Whisky, giving him his first taste many years ago. And although Alexander Murray operates out of California these days, they focus on Scottish Single Malts with an honest passion to search and find the rare casks that make up their signature blends and special edition releases.

The Glenlossie Distillery is one of the unsung heroes of Single Malt. It has been producing Single Malt Spirit since 1876 on the banks of the Lossie River before it empties into the Spey in the Highlands and is owned by Diageo. Its sister distillery — Monnochmore — is within sight. And just about EVERTY drop of their precious barley nectar is used to fill out the blend profiles of Diageo’s expansive Scotch lineup. But sometimes there are Single Malt releases and sometimes… when we’re lucky… independent bottlers like Alexander Murray get their hands on a few special casks for a one-of-a-kind bottling. Alexander Murray Glenlossie 1997 19 Year Old Cask Strength is just that sort of opportunity.

It is comprised of three batched of 1997 vintage Single Malt aged for a minimum of nineteen years in re-fill ex-Bourbon hogshead casks and bottled at 53.3% ABV.
