Producer InformationIf Alsatian wine-growing families generally highlight their centuries-old roots, Seppi Landmann, on the contrary, draws his legitimacy from his very personal journey. In the 1970s, with only one hectare of vines inherited, an iron will, a Higher Technician in Viticulture-Oenology certificate issued by the Beaune wine high school in his pocket, Seppi began by crossing the USA from East to West in hitchhiking. Barely back, and for the sake of balance and critical thinking he leaves again, this time in the other direction. In the midst of the Cold War, he crossed the Soviet Union with the Trans-Siberian Railway to reach China and Beijing more precisely. The year 1982 was a milestone in the history of the Vallée Noble, it saw the tangible birth of the Cave du Vigneron Seppi Landmann de Soultzmatt who left the cooperative and produced his first personal vintage. From then on, with the experience of his side roads, Seppi Landmann initiated a very personal approach to the vineyard and its wines: Vallée Noble, Cuvée Sophie Marceau, Cuvée Erotique, Hors La Loi, Grand Cru Zinnkoepflé, the legendary vintages 'continue. Seppi, pioneer in the field of en primeur sales (See section âpremeur purchasesâ) With a lot of originality too, he decided, in 2011, to perpetuate his work and his signature, by passing on his torch to the Rieflé family who manage the Domaine Rieflé in Pfaffenheim. Seppi assists this new team in its evolution towards the conversion to Organic Agriculture of its domain. Of course he also continues to work as an ambassador to promote his signature.
